Concrete and Paving Midland and Permian Basin Sites Count On
Advance Excavating and Paving delivers concrete and paving Midland and Odessa properties depend on — asphalt driveways and lots, concrete flatwork, curb and gutter, and parking lot maintenance across the Permian Basin since 1996.
Paving and concrete are the durable finish layers on top of site prep: driveways, parking lots, sidewalks, curb and gutter, and lot maintenance that keeps commercial pavement in service. Heat, UV, heavy truck traffic, and caliche movement under thin bases all punish pavement in West Texas. Lot failures in year two are usually a base problem, not an asphalt problem.PAVING AND ASPHALT MILLINGS
Asphalt paving installs a flexible wearing surface over a prepared base for residential driveways, commercial parking lots, and private roads. Scope includes failed pavement removal when needed, caliche or aggregate base in compacted lifts, hot-mix placement, drainage tie-in, and clean edges to concrete or existing pavement.
Residential paving — New driveways, access extensions, and failed asphalt replacement on ranch and in-town property.
Commercial paving — Retail lots, industrial access, and multi-tenant properties with tighter grade control and minimal business disruption.
Asphalt millings are recycled pavement that re-compacts into a firm, all-weather surface, practical for long ranch driveways, equipment paths, and secondary parking where full hot-mix cost is hard to justify. We deliver, spread, and compact millings with our dump truck fleet. Millings bind when compacted; they are not a substitute for engineered commercial truck parking. We will tell you honestly when full paving is the right call.
CONCRETE WORK AND CURB AND GUTTER
Concrete flatwork covers slabs, sidewalks, patios, approaches, equipment pads, and dumpster pads where a rigid surface is required. We prep subgrade and caliche base before form and pour. West Texas heat drives pour timing, curing, and joint layout so slabs do not curl or crack prematurely.
What concrete work includes:
- Subgrade and base prep
- Form, pour, and finish (broom, trowel, etc.)
- Control joints for shrinkage in our climate
- Proper cure before loading
- Crack repair and section replacement on existing flatwork when scoped
Curb and gutter is formed concrete at pavement edges that channels stormwater and protects asphalt from raveling. Residential: driveway throats, approach curbs, gutter along long drives. Commercial: island curbs, perimeter gutter, and tie-ins to storm structures per civil plan.

PARKING LOT MAINTENANCE AND STRIPING
Maintenance keeps commercial lots safe and presentable with crack sealing, pothole repair, and sealcoating before water reaches the base. Maintenance is cheaper than full reconstruction. We assess honestly when overlay or rebuild is needed instead of sealcoat.
- Crack sealing — Blocks water intrusion into base and subgrade.
- Pothole repair — Cut out, stabilize base, patch, and compact.
- Sealcoating — UV and chemical protection over sound asphalt.
Striping — Stall lines, fire lanes, ADA stalls and symbols, arrows, and crosswalks. We stripe after new paving or maintenance so paint adheres to clean, cured surfaces. Faded lines are a liability; Texas sun bleaches paint fast.
WHAT TO EXPECT
- Site evaluation — Traffic use, drainage, existing conditions, and scope.
- Base prep — Grade, caliche or aggregate base, utility conflicts resolved.
- Install — Asphalt, concrete, or curb placed when base and weather are right.
- Finish — Compaction, joints, sealcoat or striping as scoped.
